Our adoptable animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, temperment tested, and checked for overall health by a veterinarian. With your adoption, you also receive a free bag of food, informational packet, lifetime behavioral support, a coupon for a veterinary check at one of our local partners...and a lifelong friend.
In addition to our on-site center, the Escondido Humane Society has adoptable cats at Kahoots in Escondido and PETCO Escondido, and adoptable rabbits at PETCO in Escondido, Poway, and Carmel Mountain.
Dr. Dog's Pet of the Week - Meet Duffer
If you're looking for a big baby who greets you with meows every morning, than Duffer is the perfect cat for you. Duffer, a 5 year old orange and white Maine Coon mix, loves to give hugs and greetings! He came into our shelter is a stray, but you couldn't tell with all the love and kisses he loves to give. Just like a young kitten, his favorite past times are playing with toys and relaxing in the sunlight. He also loves to lay on laps and be brushed and groomed. Duffer is a cheerful cat, who could definitely bring some laughter into your home

Just look at those big brown eyes - Tank is on a mission to find a permanent home to call his own! Tank, a six year old neutered male Pit Bull mix, is 55 lbs of pure handsome dog. Tank is enjoying life in a foster home, so he's already well-mannered and acclimated to a loving home enviroment.
Tank's foster family shared with us that Tank makes them laugh every single day. Check out his YouTube video - he's a real ham! Tank is independent, animated, curious and playful. He loves the outdoors, lounging in the sunshine, and investigating new things. Tank is well-mannered, and rather than clobbering you with kisses when he sees you, he politely waits. He's loves his people, his doggie friends, and fun new things to do and see!
